Black U's report on Cervantes Weekend

 

 

What a great show Cervantes put on for us city slickers !

The few of us who bonded on the bus trip up there rocked up to find the sun shining, the breeze gently breezing thru the trees and Rocky City people hanging out having a few pre run drinks and giggles outside their cabins.After all our hugs and hellos we wandered over to register and pick up our tee shirts which, thanks ya 'll ....the ladies ones were actually girls tee shirts that fit girls!

 

And a very big thanks to Smallgoods who didn't spend much time having a good time as she was very busy sorting all the admin and finance even on Sunday morning !!

 

THE RUN !! was a beauty ,a nice long run for those who love long runs !! .. through real bush..thanks guys for the scratches and the discussion about ticks, Moppy rolled his ankle and headed back early , Boogie was having a great run thanks to a little bit of help from a guy named Bourbon on the Bus !! and Headache couldn't wait to get back for a cup of tea and a sandwich ha ha !! But no going back, too hard to find the way..it was on on to a welcome drink stop in a big shed somewhere out the back of Cervantes, I think. It seemed we could be somewhere in Jurien to those of us who staggered in last ( why am I always in that group ??!!)But on on to the beach where there was a second drink stop, some hashers had a swim,and eventually everyone arrived back at the venue for more drinks and a long circle with lots of ice !

 

The hash night was fabulous. My veiw:

 

it's raining men halleluyah !!!

was it the full moon ?

what was going on ??!!

was it something about the fine steak and crayfish dinner ??

was it all the cider that I only stopped drinking because it had run out..really late !!??

was it the music with the new member Smurf on the tambourine ??!!

was it because the band played really good dance music  ??

was it because we were outside under the stars and the breeze was gently blowing through the gum trees and the surf was rolling in just down the road and us city slickers just forget how peacefull and quiet it is in places like Cervantes??

( when hashers aren't there !!) ??

whatever the reason I had a great night.

everyone else seemed to be having a great night

 

It's Cumin had a great night dancing and chatting and even had a couple of drinks !!

Eye Lean andHottie had definately had a great night when I stopped off at their cabin on my way home !!

Cavewoman had a great night and apparently Uncle Fester and Moppy had to carry her home!!

7.4 our famous bus driver had a great night and finished it off in fine hash style by answering Smurf's phone late at night while Headache and myself fell about laughing and Boogie almost fell out of her bunk !!She is a legend !!!

 

Sunday morning saw most of us staggering over to the venue for breakfast which was a welcome when it got happening, we feasted yet again on crayfish and fresh fish ( which was cooked by some hasher that I seemed to remeber spending quite a bit of time with the night before but don't know who he is ha ha !! !!)and back to the cabins where we had to throw all our gear into the bus as the cleaners were giving us a hard time about still being there !!

 

We took the new Great Ocean Road home and enjoyed the view, ate lots of left over pickky food and learned all about sleep depravation and meditation from the very interesting It's Cum'n . Then some people put the sleep meditation into practice and stetched out across the seats for a while !!

Thanks heaps to everyone on the bus, especially 7.4 who drove and for picking me up from Midland, as coming home it took them all right out of their way from the new road to get back across to Midland as I had to pick up my car.

 

on on till the next trip away ...Bali ?? lots will happen before then and in true Rocky City style, it will all be GOOD !!!!!
