Anyone who did not go on the weekend for Albany’s 250th run missed out on a really great weekend. We started with a few very early drinks on the bus soon after we left Rockingham at 7am !!! and that set the scene for a fun trip which included picking Freebee up from the fire truck in Mandurah, a great morning tea stop at a little pub somewhere, and lunch on the bus as we were running short of time. We rocked up pretty close to 2pm, and were ahead of the Busso guys who had actually stopped to drink at a pub,( I think) ...we had stopped, peed and ate Koowalas chilli olves etc and headed off from our pub !!!!
It didn’t take long to set up tents and swags etc under the trees,
and to have a couple more drinks with the very sociable and
welcoming hashers from Albany.
They had really nice tee shirts, a varity of mens colours and nice
singlets and tee shirts for the girls !! Well done, we get tired of
having bi-sexual shirts as they are just mens styles, girls we are
over them and need to stand up and be counted !!!! Yaahh thanks
Albany we love them !!
The runners and walkers set off for what turned out to be a good but
hard run with some spectacular views and spectacular hills as well
apparently.
On arriving back at the campsite, under the trees and protected from
the sea breeze, we all had yet a few more drinks, and a very funny
circle. Baboon was going off with his air-guitar and jokes, Headache
tried a joke but got it all wrong, Just Cum called all the cums into
the circle which meant It’s Cumin and another guy who was also
Cumming at some similar time to Just Cum !!!
Albany kept us all entertained until the circle ended and food
appeared in the tent, along with plenty more alcahol,and a barrel of
local port, and suddenly the stars were out and we all stood around
the two fires( one of which got knocked over when Headache fell into
it half way through the evening ) talking with music playing .
Gradually people headed off to their tents after midnight, and
morning saw us getting up with fine rain falling, the kettle boiling
and Albany treated us to a mighty fine breakfast before we packed up
to head off for another 5 hours in the bus !! There was a discussion
about how crazy we are to travel for 6 hours for an hour and a half
run !!!!
There was no talk of the recovery run and I doubt that a single
person was upset about it !!! nor did we visit a winery or stop for
a you beaut lunch, everyone was quietly hung over and happy just to
head home and eat greasy roadhouse hangover food !!!
Baboon shut Koowala and Headache out of the bus as we left and told
Albany they could have them, which met with lots of laughter but no
one took him up on the offer !!!! The first thing back on the bus
was to turn the music down ( it was fine that it was hammering out
on the way down !!) and for everyone to find a pillow. Baboon flaked
out on a front seat to calls of Harden up Horse Fucker ,Headache had
a cocoon at the back ,nearly everyone had a snooze except for the
legendary 7.4 who partied hard as always and drove us most of the
way home.
We did not get far down the road when we had to make a stop for
Koowala to chuck !!! Have you ever seen a white Koowala ??? we
have !
IC bought a navy shirt and Koowala recovered and stirred him all he
way home as he told us so many times how smart the thought his shirt
was.......
and on that note ...
